Nance Updates: FAIL

Pluggie: "Why is it that when I go to Nance's Updates there are no updates?"

I know what you are thinking. You want a friend named Pluggie too. I got him from Sean. But the answer is: I'm a bad blogger. Apologies. I can blame cancer for that too, right?

But, for those of you who counting (I count two: me and Sean), last week was Round 4. Day 63 (63!!!) of this fun chemotherapy adventure. I know this is only 9 weeks (so far) of my life - I mean, I've ignored clients/assignments/plants for at least that long - but it feels like for-ev-er. I've been wondering about the efficacy between 4 and 6 rounds, but that (thanks Sean) is not useful thinking. So I will focus on the good.

They've finally learned how to properly pre-medicate me. Hooray. I got a big dose of anti-allegery and anti-nausea and the like before treatment and breezed through it. Asleep. It was a definite improvement.

The fatigue was much improved again this time. I cite acupuncture. No joke.

We went to Asheville for Jaime's wedding. That was cool.

OH, AND there was a party, the Nancy-thon-a-rama!!, which was wonderful. Suz came in town to celebrate (and to be the sole college representative). High school and law school and work friends converged to give me hugs and hang out in Piedmont park. It was really great. We'll have to do it again, but for better reasons. Thank you to everyone who came out.

So, day 70. There is a little chemo icky-ness hanging on, but I'm feeling okay and looking forward to six weeks from now, when the real healing begins.

  2. I've got a friend here who's going through the same, and at the same pace....keep going, it IS progress, and all your mates are applauding every step!
