When you last heard from me, we were debating radiation. That debate is over. I saw three radiation oncologists in Atlanta and everyone says, in short, just do it. So I'm going for a scan tomorrow and will probably start radiation this week. Though I think the radiation oncologist at Piedmont is wonderful, I'm going to be treated by a doctor at Emory since it is closer to home. Closer to home is a great advantage when I'll be going every weekday for 6-7 weeks. And they have valet parking for radiation patients. Real lux.
So, we were hoping for done, but we'll have to wait a bit longer for that. The worse is over though, I'm convinced.
Anyway, as I mentioned before, the original plan was to celebrate the end of treatment with a vacation and the YSC fundraiser. I'm trying to make it so that only that "end" part is not going to work out. We've been busy with this radiation stuff (boo) and trips (yea), so I've been a bad fundraiser, but Sean and I are going to do it anyway. It's this weekend, so if you'd like to join us on Saturday morning, please do. If you don't want to ride, please consider supporting us. If my couch-to-5K plan works out, I'll probably be doing some runs now and then, but this is the only official fundraising-thing I'm going to do.
Of course, I've gotten so much love and support (Nancythonarama, hugs, emails, calls and on and on) that fund-raising love is the least of these, so no pressure. But, if you want more info, here's our Team Page. (See also: Sean's page and my page.)
In other news, I had to use hair gel at the London wedding, cause my hair is growing straight up, and I've been using shampoo for like three weeks. It's awesome.
Here's a pic! Note the gray spot in front. Definitely going to have a streak there. To treat or not to treat - can't wait for that to be the question.
Are you BLONDE???
